Edinburgh University's papyrus collection to be conserved

Work is starting to conserve our collection of papyrus fragments, which are some of our oldest manuscripts. The earliest is a set of tax receipts from AD 17-19. There are 18 fragments in total, all of which were discovered at the Oxyrhynchus site in Egypt in the late nineteenth or early twentieth century.
