Lewis Grassic Gibbon's library reconstructed

The library of the novelist Lewis Grassic Gibbon (real name James Leslie Mitchell) was donated to Edinburgh University Library by his daughter. Until now the books have been scattered in the printed special collections, but thanks to a volunteer's work, all 300+ books have now been brought back together and reconstituted as a distinct collection. You can find them through the online catalogue by doing a shelfmark search for "Gibbon". The collection includes works on Scottish history and culture, as well as the classical past, and provides evidence for the sources he used when writing works such as "Sunset Song" or "Spartacus".
